Quiz: Brown Patches on Torso and Limbs

A middle-aged woman is sent by her dermatologist for an eye examination due to several brown patches on her torso and limbs, similar to those shown in the image above. These patches were first observed during infancy and have increased in both size and number over time. Other family members on her father’s side also display similar skin lesions.

She has no vision complaints and her uncorrected acuity is 20/20 in each eye. Her medical history includes gastroparesis, foot drop, hypertension, and arrhythmia. During her school years, she struggled with a learning disability.
