    1. As in this patient, one would not expect to observe a macular star acutely. Macular star formation is a later finding.

  1. How can you say “papilledema” in neuroretinitis, shouldn’t it be disc swelling.
    Isnt papilledema reserved as a term for increased ICT only?

    1. Yes, you would be correct. The fundus photo has the “appearance of papilledema”. However, if one has verified that the intracranial pressure is normal by LP with opening pressure recording, then this disc finding would be better described as “disc swelling”
