By the end of this course, you will be be able to:

  1. Describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the eye
  2. List common eye diseases
  3. Describe basic ophthalmic surgical procedures
  4. Articulate basic principles of optics
  5. Describe wave theory as it relates to imaging and optics-cased ophthalmic equipment
  6. List and describe the operating purpose of basic and advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment equipment
  7. Describe and perform standard preventative care for basic and advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment equipment, which can be done without specialized manufacturer training
  8. Describe and apply standard troubleshooting and maintenance for basic and advanced ophthalmic equipment malfunctions of a mechanical, electrical and/or optical nature, which can be done without specialized manufacturer training
