About Me:
Dr. Taravella is currently the Chief of the Division of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of Colorado and co-director of the corneal fellowship at this institution. He holds the academic rank of Professor. He has participated in on- and off-the-plane programs in Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Bulgaria, Spain, Yangon, India, the Sudan, and China. His areas of expertise include cornea and external disease, corneal transplantation, including penetrating and lamellar keratoplasty, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery.
Why did you want to become a Cybersight Mentor?
I have a strong interest in international ophthalmology and enjoy the challenge of responding to cases that come my way. Volunteering is also a way for me to give back to my profession. I have found it rewarding and a great learning experience for me as well.
