About Me:
Dr. Thales is a clinician scientist (MD, PhD) with expertise in ocular genetics, inherited retinal diseases (IRDs), and glaucoma. He currently teaches residents and fellows in his home country, Brazil, and is also associated with the University College London Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, both in the UK. Dr. Thales is an active researcher and physician who has participated in multiple clinical trials – including gene therapy trials – and observational studies for IRDs, as well as studies involving artificial intelligence for the prediction and accurate diagnosis of this group of conditions.
